日経ＢＰのボーナスは、「基本賞与」が6月と12月に1ヶ月分ずつ出て、これは業績に関係なく出る。ゼロになるのは、3月と9月に出る「業績賞与」のほうで、黒字だった2008年は中堅社員で１回50万円くらいずつ出ていた。つまり、年間100万円ほどの減収ということになる。
なにしろ、“一本足打法”と呼ばれてきた屋台骨の『日経ビジネス』が振るわない。これまで、経済誌のなかで圧倒的なナンバーワンの地位を保ってきたが、直近のＡＢＣ部数で見ても、2009年上期（１～６月）の平均実売部数は、27万6125部で、前年同期比１２．８％減と、激減した。同時期、『週刊東洋経済』は５．５％も伸ばし、『週刊ダイヤモンド』も０．２％増と横ばいを保っている。
経済誌は不況に強い分野といわれ、競合他誌が踏みとどまっているなか、日経ＢＰは完全に一人負けで、ナンバーワンビジネス誌を出している会社がビジネスに失敗しているという笑えない状況なのだ。他分野でも同時期、『日経パソコン』が１９．２％減、『日経エンタテインメント！』が１１．４％減など、軒並み 1割以上も減らしている。
